It is time once again for my weekly Survivor blog, and I would like to apologise to my few faithful readers. My last blog was rushed and I don't feel as though I put enough heart into it, and it looks like this one might be the same way. Sorry if it isn't very interesting.
The tribes merged on this episode. Everyone loves when the tribes merge. New alliances form and each player begins playing the game as an individual instead of for a team. I am not quite sure of the new tribe name. I like the meaning of it, just not the name itself. But that may have something to do with the fact that Marty came up with it. I think I would like the name a whole lot more if, say, Kelly came up with it. That way we would know she was still in the game.
NaOnka stole flour, pans, etc. I am not quite sure why she did this. It almost seemed as if she was upset with the tribe and decided to go off on her own and have a temper tantrum. Was that really the way to deal with it? Whatever her reason, it could come back and bite her in the butt.
I loved the challenge, mainly because I love the endurance challenges. Those are my favorites. They show just how strong a person really is. How cute was Jane?! She held up the longest out of the women, and even though she was technically done with the challenge, she continued to stick with it. Of course she revealed later that she did it "just to beat Marty." I love that woman. Next to Holly, she is my favorite.
I must say I wasn't very impressed with the way Marty spoke about Jane at Tribal Council. Unfortunately, I do think he is 100%, without a doubt, correct. If I was on the jury and Jane made it to the finals, that woman would get my vote, hands down.
I would be short-changing all of you if I left out my Dan comment for the week. Did he actually have a reason for mentioning the NaOnka incident at tribal when they were talking about something entirely different? It seemed kind of random to me. And why is he still there? He and Kelly really need to be the next ones to go. Kelly reminds me of Natalie from Samoa, and I would really hate to have the winner of this season be someone who didn't do anything to earn the win and was hardly ever on the air.
My girl Holly is still in it! Way to represent South Dakota, my friend!

Excerpt
This is a small excerpt from the book I am in the process of writing. It is a very tiny sampling, but this gives you an idea of my writing style, how I put sentences together, etc.
~Dust swirled around the hem of her dress, indicating the lack of rain Brunswick had been suffering from. She looked around anxiously for the man she was to be meeting. She had no idea what he looked like. In fact, she knew very little about him.~
I know it is just one paragraph, but I hope it piqued your interest and you want to read my book when it is finished! Let me know!

"You can milk your own milk"
I decided the title of this week's blog should be a quote from Purple Kelly. I wasn't sure if or even when she would say anything again, so I wanted to give her some recognition. Way to go, Kelly, for making sure your first confessional would be remembered!
At the opening of the episode, Chase makes the comment, "Based on Dan's performance, I really hope keeping him doesn't come back to bite us in the butt." Um, I agree! People. This is what I have been saying all along. I understand where they are coming from by keeping him around because he isn't a threat. But is he an asset? What the hell would Dan be, anyway?
And speaking of Dan, as I always am, how about that reward challenge? Really, Dan?! REALLY?? My 90-year old grandpa could've done more smoothly than you did. And I wonder if anyone else noticed the excitement on Purple Kelly's face after she got her ball in the net. She probably knew that would get on the air.
LaFlor's communication seemed to suck in the immunity challenge. Fabio told Brenda and Purple Kelly that they need to talk about things together and Kelly got pissy with him. If we could ever see her personality come out, I think we would find her a very delightful young woman. I think. I'm not sure, though.
I would comment on Marty giving the idol away, but I can't. I still don't understand it. Does this make him stupid? Does this make him smart? Is he too trusting, and does he really trust that the others will keep him in the game? Will they? I need answers!
This is a shorter blog than I usually write, but I just didn't think there were enough things to mention this week. But, I am happy to say that NaOnka can now say she has touched a cow's nipple. I'm sure her mother is so proud.

"Are those toilet seats attached to your derrieres?"
Well, as of now, we aren't even halfway through this season and we have already had three people on the verge of quitting the game. Holly's and NaOnka's reasons were similar. I think that they both had mental breakdowns after dealing with the fierce weather and the overall stress of it all. But luckily they were able to bounce back and jump right back into the game. They both do well at challenges and seem to have overcome the doubts they had earlier. Now, when Dan went to Holly and revealed that he wanted to quit the game, I can't say I was surprised by this. The man is in obvious pain. Watch him walk and you will see that his joints barely work anymore. You can even see discomfort in his eyes. Now, if he would rock the challenges and actually be useful to the tribe, we could brush this off as a breakdown of sorts as well. But the difference between Dan wanting to quit and Holly and NaOnka wanting to quit is that, unlike the ladies, Dan is useless. He likes to talk about and flaunt his wealth, but he doesn't have much to brag about in the way of health. I don't even know why he signed up for the show. This is not the first and second season of Survivor, for cryin' out loud! Holly said something similar and now I am going to say it as well. You should know what you signed up for, and if you can't handle it then stay home. Remember the first few seasons of this show? Were there any wimps back then? I think the first didn't come until Pearl Islands when Osten decided he was scared of pelicans and just couldn't stay in the game.
And not only is Dan useless and falling apart, almost walking on nubs, but apparently he is also a liar. When he was asked by Jeff if anything out there bothers him, his answer was no. Really, Dan?! Nothing??? You pouted when your $1,600 shoes turned up missing (which you shouldn't've brought out there in the first place. A pair of Nikes would've served the purpose just fine.), you whined about getting mud on you (I do that and I am a girl!), and you have repeatedly complained about the lack of sleep, the weather, etc. Go home and sit by your pool in your expensive, ugly shoes and give a more deserving person a bigger chance at winning this game. Please.
And no, you are not imagining my distaste for Dan. That is the name of my ex husband. Plus, he resembles a former male friend of mine who decided he could no longer be friends with me because I refused to sleep with him. So needless to say, Dan bashing is enjoyable for me.
Normally, I enjoy the challenges as I did this particular one. But I found it extremely hard to take seriously. Maybe it was just me, but it honestly looked like they had toilet seats attached to their, er, seats. I was laughing too much to pay close attention to it, but I did catch that Holly and Jill won the two individual immunity necklaces. They squared off in a ring toss and Jill won the feast for her team.
Natalie, AKA Purple Kelly, once again said nothing the entire episode.
As a super fan of this show, I have seen plenty of people lie right to someone else's face, so Marty's story to Fabio wouldn't have been that big of a deal but for the fact that Fabio bought every word of it. Fabio now believes that Marty is a chess grandmaster and that he beat Guillermo Vilas as a child. Fabio is awestruck, but what Fabio doesn't know is that Guillermo Vilas is a tennis player. Poor, clueless Fabio.
Once again, I was not happy with the vote. Kelly B. is a good woman and didn't deserve that!
It looks like we will see some crafty, sneaky people on the next episode, and Fabio will revert back to his childhood, peeing in the water.

"Drop Your Buffs"
Once again, I have decided to write something other than a recap of the latest episode of Survivor. I don't think that it is necessary since we have all watched it and know what happens anyway. There are too many other things to talk about.
This was a delightful episode for me. It tickles me to hear jeff say, "Drop your buffs." Those three words are the precursor to a tribal switch. This also means that any alliances previously made are no more. It can be a blessing for some and doom for others.
It took a few episodes, but I am now at the point where Marty just pisses me off. He grates on my nerves about as much as Tom Westman. Honestly, I hope he leaves soon or I will have a certain level of discomfort every time I sit down to watch my favorite show.
And because of my recent distaste of Marty, I love Brenda more than I did before. She said Marty has balls and he is very arrogant. I am seeing some serious Survivor skills in the Asian sensation. I am excited to see what she has in store for us.
And then we have NaOnka. You either love her or hate her, and I happen to love her. I also have a new respect for her. I have heard so many rude and negative comments about her. Well, it's true what is said about being kind to others because you never know what they are going through. She had an extremely rough time during the cold, endless rain and contemplated quitting the game. A few of her tribemates were supportive and helped her through it. Jeff seemed surprised that these strangers helped her through a difficult time, but I understood what she was talking about completely. I went through a divorce a few years ago, and I went through it all alone. I had no one to help me through it, no friends, no family to talk to or tell me it was all going to be okay. And I still feel that way. But the friends I have online have talked me through some tough times and listened to me vent, cry and even rejoice. So it is definitely possible to feel love and support from people who are essentially strangers.
I think Purple Kelly said one sentence this episode. That is one more sentence than she has said on any of the other episodes. I wonder if she is going to slide right through to the end, just like Natalie did? That wouldn't be so bad, I just hope she does something to earn her spot in the final if she gets there.
Voting out Tyrone was some sort of strategy. I guess. I don't agree with their method of voting because I don't know what good Dan will do in any future challenges.
Dan wants to pack it in? Well, blow me down with a feather. Of course he does. HE IS MISERABLE! The man can barely move so this doesn't surprise me one bit. I completely understand he is beatable if he is carried to the end, but should all of the strong, capable people all be voted out so quickly?

Survivor Nicaragua episode 4....another opinion of mine
Usually by episode 4, we fans have our favorite players chosen and opinions of each. We even have our own ideas about how the voting should go and why. I, too, have my own opinions of the players and about the game of Survivor itself. My opinions are my own, and I have found that they are not always very popular with others. For example, I think Russell should've won in Samoa, not Natalie. Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against Natalie, but I feel she didn't work as hard for the title of Sole Survivor as Russell did. That man played the game and did whatever he needed to do and still came up short. He upset people on the jury so they decided to give Natalie the million dollars for doing really nothing but killing a rat. That is very sad to me.
Basically, I am leading up to this past week's episode. I was one of the few who weren't happy with the outcome. I really didn't see the point of voting out Jimmy T. over someone like Dan. I understand the editing and all of that, and I also realize we probably didn't hear half of JT's annoying whining. I am quite positive it was torture being stranded out there with this man who never shut up. But Survivor is a competition. It is a game show, really. The prize is one million dollars, for cryin' out loud! Shouldn't these people who come to play the game have to endure a few unpleasant things? Perhaps an empty tummy and cold, sleepless nights and, dare I say it, an annoying man who whines and talks to much? I say if you are competing for one million dollars, suck it up, people! Work for that million!
They chose to keep Dan around instead of JT. Now, if you ask me, I say Dan should've been sent packing last week. "Let's send home a guy who bitches and whines but can actually perform in challenges and help us win ove a guy who bitches and whines about getting mud on him and can barely move! Yes! We are geniuses!"
We all know there is a tribal switch coming up, and whoever gets stuck with Dan is going to end up voting him off right away, and if they don't I will be surprised.
I really admire Holly for what she said at Tribal Council. "Give the guy a chance." Exactly.

Survivor Nicaragua episode 3..."Faker than faux fur"
Survivor fans were once again blessed with a fantastic episode, and for this particular blog, I think instead of writing a recap of what happened, I am going to give my thoughts on each of the remaining players. Everyone has their opinions on them, and I am going to express mine. I am going to start with Judd, AKA Fabio. I like him for one reason and one reason only. He is hysterical! He seems to be a few fries short of a happy meal, and I think if you looked in one of his ears you could probably see the other side. Marty is a huge baby who wants his way all the time. 'Nuff said. Dan. Oh, my. Unlike the saying, Dan is certainly not the man. He claims he is in much better shape physically than Jimmy J. I say, "Dude, have you seen yourself walk?! You need a Survivor scooter or something." Tyrone is built like James Clement. He is very passionate about the game of Survivor, as was James Clement. Hopefully he doesn't get injured and pulled from the game like James Clement. I really like Jane. She is one of my favorites because she is like the mom of the group. She starts fires, she has a brain. Her voice annoys me, though. Alina is a woman with a strong personality, but with not much of an alliance I fear her chances of going to the end are slim. Let's hope something turns around for her. Kelly S. is somewhat of an enigma to me. We don't see or hear much from her. Will she be the next Kelly from Samoa, who just hung out with her tribe and was voted out, or will she be the next Natalie, who was also quiet but ended up winning her season? It's hard to say when she isn't given enough air time. Brenda has a strong personality. She is very flirtatious and plans to use that to her advantage. I can't wait to see how that works out for her. I wasn't thrilled with Jimmy Johnson, but he was fun to watch during the short time he was on. He loves the game of Survivor and I am glad he had the chance to be a part of it. NaOnka is, without a doubt, one of my favorites this season. She speaks her mind, no matter how rude or crude the thoughts are. "Fabio's hair gets on my nerves....such an airhead." And that was a fairly tame statement from her. She should really watch her mouth. Yve is a beautiful woman, inside and out. She is quiet, and I can't believe she is 40. I hope I look like that when I am 40. Jill is another one of my favorites. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders and also appears to get along with everyone on her tribe. I really hope she goes a long way. Benry is strong in challenges and seems like a nice guy. Pretty boring so far. I think Sash's mind is definitely in the game. He always seems to be talking strategy with someone. Jimmy T. just needs to calm the hell down. Dude, we get it. You wanna play the game and they won't let you. Kelly B. is another favorite of mine. I admire her for playing this game with a prosthetic leg. She truly is an inspiration to everyone. The only thing about Chase that really stands out for me is that he likes Brenda. That is about it. He reminds me alot of Mick from Samoa. I have saved my favorite for last, my friend Holly. Yes, I have met her in person and she is now someone I consider a friend. I guess you could say I am biased because of that. But she is a beautiful woman, inside and out. I know for a fact that she is very caring and also very determined to win this game. I don't know what the future of the game holds for her, but I will be rooting for her every step of the way.
The challenge consisted of barrell-rolling and bag tossing. It was so close! Benry rocked it, but Tyrone did very well himself. LaFlor ended up winning it, and Espada voted out Jimmy J. at Tribal Council.
Batten down the hatches for next week's episode. A storm is brewing, but it will be nothing compared to Hurricane NaOnka!
